These "silver print" address labels look very nice on a black envelope, but I'm not sure if they'd work otherwise, they really are a variegated gray. I know I read that these were not metallic silver, but because they are called "Silver" I kept thinkng of them that way, so I was momentarily disappointed when I opened the package. Maybe calling them "Matte Silver" or "Faux Silver" would clear up any confusion. I like the printing, others in my family thought it was too faint.
