Halloween Cute little witch CC1243 Clapsaddle Paper Plates
Paper plate inspired by a really sweet Halloween postcard by American artist Ellen Clapsaddle (1865–1934).
The picture shows a little girl witch dressed in red cape and pointy hat. She is surrounded by glowing jack-o'-lantern pumpkins (one of them on the reverse side); another pumpkin is hollowed out to serve as a kettle. The kettle pumpkin is filled with small letters, perhaps Halloween greetings? The dark blue background really makes the girl and the pumpkins, as well as the Halloween message (A Jolly Halloween), stand out.
The image file is digitally restored and isolated from its background (July 2021). Parts of the image can also freely be moved around, which is a great help to make a well balanced design.
