Mandalas traditionally were used spiritually and ritually by those practicing Hinduism and Buddhism, but have since become a universal symbol of peace, unity and harmony. It's term originates from the original language, Sanskrit, which literally means means “circle." One can envision a perfect harmonic circle enveloping them and radiating from them and outwards towards others. One can also envision the "circle" of life and the symbiotic relationships of all beings, thereby reminding us of the energy we emit and what we bring to this world, and how it might return.
