Happy Mardi Gras Poster 2016 Jigsaw Puzzle

This poster celebrates Mardi Gras in Mobile, Alabama. The three lower images, a jester, champagne glass and marching musician, are taken from various floats of yesteryear. The green and yellow images at the top are actually abstracts from a Christmas lighting display at the Magic Christmas in Lights at Bellingrath Gardens in Theodore, Alabama, just down the road from Mobile. The beaded outline is made up of the three colors associated with Mardi Gras: purple, green and gold...purple for justice, green for faith and gold for power. The purple crown at the top represents the Mobile Carnival Association's King Felix's fun "misrule" during the Carnival season. I used the striped eyeglasses in the central area to represent the throngs of people watching ("eyeing") the parades. While decorated umbrellas are more a part of New Orleans' Mardi Gras, they are seen in Mobile as well. And the phrase, "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!" translated, means "Let the Good Times Roll!" And the good times do roll many times each year in Mobile, Alabama!
