a photo of a painting, by bellingham, wa street artist ruckas - used with permission, digitally enhanced to brighten colors and sharpen texture and shape changed to square. the lady love in the castle being defended by the knight in armor on horseback and imperiled from all sides by a dragon, tentacle monster, and alien spacecraft are ruckas's ideas about how love isn't just rosy feelings and fun but that it has risks and terrors as well and sometimes must be fought hard for to keep it. the terrain appearing as an ice or cloud island with just the two lovers and their castle further indicates the difficulties love must deal with in order to last and flourish. title by ruckas. the original (not for sale) done on canvas in mixed media paints
