It was the fulfillment of President Kennedy’s pledge to send a man to the Moon and return him safely before the end of the decade of the 1960’s. One day this event will be reprised and expanded to the planet Mars and other destinations in the cosmos. For now, we commemorate this historic space event on the 50th anniversary, 2019, and beyond.
