Historic House 817 Card

Painted in tones of cream, tan, and brown, this lovely old Victorian home, circa 1885, is part of the North Slope Historic District in Tacoma, WA. A tall, narrow building, this home has three stories, plus a basement with old foundation stones (more like field boulders) that reach over my head when I'm standing in the basement. At the top of the house, a small, square stained-glass window sits in a triangular wall face, above the bay windows of the master bedroom below, which itself sits on top of the living room windows. A wrap-around porch is held up by narrow pillars and spindle railing; a few chairs are placed just right to relax in the summer sun. A green branch of a nearby tree slips into the top of the image. At the left lower corner, a pale brick path approaches the house, flanked by shrubs and roses, which throw some shade on the patch of green grass at the lower right of the photo. On the back of the card is the plaque which identifies the house as a member of the Tacoma Register of Historic Places.
