Each one has slightly different fonts and color schemes because the suffrage movement began as many grass root groups working together. These are photo images of real historic pins. Each star on these pins represent a state where women could vote. States could pass laws to allow women in their state to vote even if it wasn't federal law. This 6 star pin represents the number of states in which women had full suffrage at the time it was made: Wyoming (1869), Colorado (1893), Utah (1896), Idaho (1896), Washington (1910), California (1911), (Note! there are two styles of this pin--one with a black border and one without.
