Horio MEYUI Bicycle Playing Cards

The Horio family crest is said to be descended from the Takashina clan and lived in Kugose, Owari Province. Horio Yoshiharu, originally named Horiomadasuke, served under Hideyoshi from the time he was known as Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Yoshiharu fought in many battles alongside Hideyoshi and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the lord of 120,000 koku. He was one of the three senior councillors, known as the 'San-Churo', who ranked below the Five Elders. After Yoshiharu's death, his son Tadaharu succeeded him. Tadaharu sided with the Eastern Army during the Battle of Sekigahara and was rewarded with the Matsue Domain in Izumo Province, doubling his income to 240,000 koku. However, the family line came to an end in 1634 due to a lack of heirs.
