Human Ear Diagram with Cochlear Frequency Mapping Mouse Pad
The human ear and frequency mapping in the cochlea. The three ossicles incus, malleus, and stapes transmit airborne vibration from the tympanic membrane to the oval window at the base of the cochlea. Because of the mechanical properties of the basilar membrane within the snail-shaped cochlea, high frequencies will produce a vibration peak near the oval window, whereas low frequencies will stimulate receptors near the apex of the cochlea (locations for three frequencies indicated schematically). Information from the cochlear receptor cells is transmitted to the cochlear nuclei via the 8th cranial nerve, and on through the mid brain to the cortex.

It was time for a new mouse pad and being that I am at the computer so much, I wanted something pleasing to look at. I was completely floored when I received this one from Zazzle. The quality is great, and at such a great price! I paid a little over $15.00 - and with it being a custom photo??? - can't beat that! The photo of my pup was even better than the original that I took with my iphone - no special zoom camera. I wasn't sure if it would maintain quality when being blown up for the mouse pad size but WOW - the colors are vibrant, and it actually looks like my sweet pup is actually looking at me...... so so so so very happy with the result!
