Inviting children to a wedding can result in cute, and sometimes, chaotic moments. To help reduce the latter, it’s best to prepare ahead. Providing a designated space with kid-friendly snacks, entertainment, and activities is key. So, if you’re planning to invite little ones to your special day, consider this next DIY project. These activity kits are a fun, easy way to have them sign your “guest book” and keep them engaged – for a few minutes, at least.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Wedding Coloring Page
- Custom Mini Clipboard
- Colored Pencils or Crayons
- Baker’s Twine or String
- Scissors
Designs we used include: Princess Castle and Unicorn Mini Clipboard, Cyan Blue Monogram Mini Clipboard

Here’s how you do it:

After ordering the personalized coloring page, gather the extra supplies and start assembling the kits. Clip a single coloring page to each mini clipboard.

Measure 36” inches of twine per kit and cut. This will be used to wrap the coloring materials to the clipboard.

Divide the twine into thirds and gather 6 -10 colored pencils or crayons. While holding 2/3 of the twine, begin tightly wrapping around the set of coloring materials. Stop when the ends of the twine are even.

When you finish wrapping, place the coloring materials in the center of the clipboard. Wrap the ends of the twine around the board crossing in the back. Then tie a square knot to secure.

Lastly, add a bow and display at your kid’s table!

These activity kits are sure to be a hit! You’ll love the drawings and the kids will love their personalized clipboard. Heck, the parents will be glad they got in a dance or two!
If you wish to keep their artwork, be sure to include messaging on the table with a box or envelope instructing so. The final drawings will be keepsakes you’ll cherish forever. Your special day captured in the perspective of their innocent imagination.
If you create these activity kits for the kids at your wedding, please share it with us by using the hashtag #zazzlemade on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. We’d love to see their drawings of you!

Hi Jenny,
I post daily on Twitter and I’m always on the lookout for interesting articles to post besides my Zazzle products. I was recently introduced to the “Ideas” dropdown menu by another designer. I really like what I’ve seen to use as Tweets.
I have been sharing this wedding DIY post on Twitter. I’m a small account but each posting has been getting traction so I’m guessing it resonates with folks.
I’ll be watching “Ideas” for more articles to share.
