Finding a gift for mom on Mother’s Day can sometimes be tough. It can especially be difficult when she specifically asks for “nothing.” In cases like this, for the woman who “doesn’t need anything,” a handmade present might be the perfect gift to show her you care.
For the mom, grandma, aunt, sister, or friend that appreciates the spa, this lavender salt scrub makes a wonderful, homemade Mother’s Day gift. Heck, it’s great for anyone who loves to be pampered. The high-quality, skin-soothing ingredients paired with the relaxing aromatherapy of lavender is divine. What makes these even more special are the custom labels added to the finished jar. These labels are waterproof and can be customized and designed any way you’d like. They make the final product look like you bought it from an expensive artisan retailer. Want to give it a try? Follow the steps below!
Here’s what you’ll need:

- ½ cup Epson Salt
- 1 tsp Vitamin E Oil
- 1 tbsp Hemp Seed Oil or Argan Oil
- 10-20 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil
- 1 tbsp Dried Lavender
- Spoon
- Custom Waterproof Labels
If you’re making more than one jar, double, triple, or quadruple the quantities!
Here’s how you do it:

1. Measure Epson salt and pour into a small bowl. Add vitamin E oil. Vitamin E is a great base oil for homemade, natural body products. It has anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties making it a terrific moisturizer.

2. Next, add hemp seed or argan oil. Hemp seed oil and argan oil are both non-comedogenic, which means they don’t clog pores. These oils are high in fatty acids that aid in healing dry, damaged skin.

3. With a spoon, stir salt and oils until combined.

4. To give the scrub fragrance, add lavender essential oil.

5. For extra exfoliation and color, add dry lavender. Stir.
Boy, does this smell amazing!

6. Once combined, fill salt scrub into a glass jar.

7. Add a custom waterproof label and that’s it!

Now that you’ve gifted one to mom, make it again and treat yourself!

Thanks for the recipe Jenny. Can’t wait to create some. How many ounces is this container? Where did you purchase it?
Thanks for the response, Lalita!
We’ve had these jars on hand for a while and therefore don’t have the specific purchase information, but here’s a similar container we found that you could use!
