Selection of fall decor

As summer comes to an end, a few inevitable changes occur. Temperatures drop a couple of degrees, the days grow shorter, and at last, your favorite pumpkin beverage makes a bold return. Now that the months of heat and humidity are fading fast, you can settle into your coziest fireside nook and get excited about fall – well, that’s what we’re doing, anyway!

As we replay Taylor Swift’s Folklore (2020) album for the umpteenth time, let’s fall in love with autumn all over again. Here are our 10 Zamazing things to look forward to in the coming months!

Fun for All the Family

It’s good to spend time with your family at any point during the year, but fall, in particular, presents endless opportunities for special moments with your loved ones. How about attending a football game and cheering on the home team together? Or you could even host your own harvest festival, complete with hayrides, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches!

Good Old Fashion Fun

Gather up your flip flops, sunglasses, and swimsuits, and tuck them safely into a corner of your wardrobe – you can always dig them out again next year. For now, swap that skirt for a pair of leggings, and exchange that t-shirt for a hoodie, embracing that cozy fall vibe. This is also a great time to start curating your closet for winter, stocking up on warm scarves and cute socks

The Sweetest of Treats

Step outside in fall, and you can almost immediately sense that intoxicating aroma, can’t you? There’s no mistaking those seasonal scents wafting through the air! We’re looking forward to visiting an orchard for an apple-picking session or a farm to begin carving a spooky pumpkin masterpiece. Whether you’re a skilled artisan or a novice baker, you can try your hand at preparing some spicy favorites in the kitchen at this time of year, too.

Stay Cozy Indoors

It’s hard to beat curling up inside on the couch in late summer and early fall – we almost did that ourselves today, instead of writing this piece. Don’t feel guilty this year about indulging your whims and snuggling up with a warm blanket, mug, and Gilmore Girls on the TV. Not everyone appreciates hot weather, after all, and a chilled-out day at home sounds super refreshing to us!

Frightful Delights

Fall is also a chance to celebrate the creepy and the kooky (and the mysterious and spooky). Halloween, which takes place right in the middle of the season, allows us to be playful and mischievous, and to express ourselves through costumes, parties, makeup, and decorations. Whether you want to summon Beetlejuice or get in touch with the Great Pumpkin, you can find out more with our “Halloween Party Game Ideas for All Ages.”

Football Season is Here

There are a lot of reasons people look forward to football season, depending on the kind of fan you are. For some, there’s nothing more enjoyable than a Sunday afternoon spent solely in the company of the San Francisco 49ers or the Kansas City Chiefs. For those who want to get out and about, though, you can stash the can coolers, beer, and nachos in your trunk for a spontaneous tailgate party. Either way, we can’t wait for kickoff.

Feast Mode On

If Halloween terrifies you for all the wrong reasons, then maybe Thanksgiving is the occasion for you. Do you have relatives from far-flung places that typically come to stay? Or do you simply want to veg out with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV? For us, Thanksgiving (or even FRIENDSgiving) is a chance to savor those seasonal smells again with a steaming hot dinner – yes, we will have a second helping, thank you!

A Change of Scenery

Some of those “inevitable changes” we mentioned at the start of this article include an evolving landscape. Instead of the lush greens and coastal blues we associate with summer, we now have fiery reds, burnt oranges, and warm yellows to look forward to! These rich autumn colors and bright surroundings could make for some spectacular photos (and even some fashion or home décor inspiration).

Regularly Scheduled Programming

Of course, those of you who would rather binge-watch series than rake up leaves make a good point, too! Fall usually means that broadcast, cable, and streaming services have a schedule of new and returning shows to announce and launch. Excitement always builds throughout the summer to see what gets revealed, and this year has been no exception!

Falling for Each Other

True, we don’t know for sure that you have a fall wedding to plan or attend, but if you do, great! September and October are becoming increasingly popular months to get married in: nature provides a stunning photo backdrop, and there’s less competition for dates and venues. We bet that at least someone in your life is on board with the idea of a fall wedding; maybe they even read our article on the subject
