Your highly anticipated baby shower went off without a hitch, and it was everything you dreamed it would be! Now that this special event is complete, it’s time to send out thank you cards to those who showered you with gifts, love, and support. As you’re already aware, it’s extremely important to acknowledge the efforts and generosity of your loved ones who came together to help you prepare for your new bundle of joy. However, you may be wondering what exactly to write inside the cards in order to convey your gratitude to each individual guest or gift-giver. Today, we’re gifting you, parent-to-be, with our guide to writing the perfect personalized baby shower thank you cards for your host, guests, and any other gift givers complete with product recommendations that you can find right here on Zazzle!
When to Design Your Thank You Cards
When your baby is born, you’ll be exceptionally busy (and probably quite tired), so that’s why we’d highly recommend arranging your baby shower thank you cards before the big arrival. Ideally, start shopping for your cards just after the baby shower itself. If you get your cards sorted earlier on, you’ll be a lot less stressed, and also less likely to forget to send them! Although, if you’re under a time constraint and have let this task slip past you, don’t fret – because we’ve got you covered.
If there’s not enough time to receive and mail out your thank you cards, opt for a digital design instead! Many of our Independent Creators allow our customers to purchase downloadable versions of their designs that can be emailed to loved ones in the blink of an eye. Simply look for ‘Instant Download’ on the left of the image of the design you like to see if it’s eligible for this option. You can even use our awesome ‘Create’ tool to make your virtual baby shower thank you card totally from scratch!
Picking the Theme
We offer thousands of absolutely gorgeous baby shower thank you cards that’ll suit every new parent’s unique tastes! With so many great cards to pick from, you’ll easily find a design you love in no time. If you’re looking for some inspiration in regard to where to start on your browsing journey, might we suggest matching the design to the theme or the vibe of your recent baby shower? If your shower décor featured florals, for example, opting for a floral thank you card could be a fitting choice. Or, if your baby shower was themed around the season it took place in, for example, fall, go for a fall-themed thank you card! Another lovely touch is to upload some photos you took at the event to the cards.
The Wording Inside the Cards
In this section, we’ll guide you through what to write inside your thank you cards, whether you choose to personalize these individually using our design tool, or decide to handwrite the messages after you’ve received blank cards.
For The Host
If your baby shower was kindly hosted for you by someone else, be sure to thank them
specifically for all of the hard work and planning that went into pulling off the event. They most likely arranged all of the decorations, refreshments, and entertainment that made your day so memorable. Hence, the host should receive the longest message of appreciation in their card, as they kindly organized such a beautiful event for you! We’ve included some examples below, but feel free to use these as inspiration and tweak them to your liking:
“Thank you so much for hosting such a wonderful event for me. You threw me the shower of my dreams! I am beyond grateful for your efforts, and will always remember how loved you made me feel.”
“To the most gracious host, thank you for planning the best baby shower I could’ve ever asked for! Everybody who attended had an absolutely amazing time, as did I. I’ll never forget this special day!”
For Guests Who Attended
When it comes to the guests who attended your shower in person, make sure to thank them for their time, and also mention the gift they gave you by name. They’ll appreciate your attentiveness in regard to their individual gift much more than receiving a generic thank you message! Here are some wording examples:
“Thank you so much for coming to my shower and for the lovely [gift name]. Us and our baby will get great use out of this in the coming months!”
“Thank you endlessly for helping me celebrate the arrival of my new little one. The [gift name] will truly be a lifesaver for us!”
“Thanks for being such a great friend to me and supporting me during this exciting time! You helped make my shower unforgettable. I can’t wait to use the [gift name] you so thoughtfully gave me!”
For Those Who Sent Gifts from Afar
While some of your loved ones may not have been able to come to your shower, they may still have kindly sent you a gift in the mail! If this is the case, ensure that you express your gratitude for this specifically, too. Use these examples for inspiration:
“It means the world to me that you so kindly sent me a [gift name] for my baby. Thank you so much! Even though you weren’t able to attend the shower in person, you were truly there in spirit!”
“Thank you so much for mailing us such a wonderful and thoughtful gift all the way from [State/Country]. We’re so thrilled to have a reminder of you here with us as we embark on this next chapter”
For Financial Gifts
Some loved ones may have decided to give you money or a gift card rather than something they bought themselves, and you’ll need to thank them for this accordingly. Below, you’ll find some wording recommendations to thank them for this style of gift:
“I am so grateful for your contribution towards my new journey in parenthood. I’ll definitely be using this to stock our nursery full of [items] for our little one. Thank you so much!’
“Thank you so much for your generous gift. We can now buy our dream [item] that we’ve had our eye on for months!”
Signing Off
You should end the card with an appropriate sign-off like “With Love, [Your Name]” or “Sincerely, [Your Name]”. However, if you wish, and if your time-frame allows for it, you can even add a personalized line or two at the end of the card for each recipient. For example, you could reference a moment you both shared at the shower, or remind them of a different sweet memory you have together. If the recipient is an aunt, uncle, or perhaps godparent to-be for your little one, it’s nice to include a line about that, also.
We hope the above information has been most useful to you, and helps you write the best, most heartfelt baby shower thank you cards possible!
