The inSight Mars lander 2 year mission is a NASA science program to study the deep interior of the red planet Mars. InSight stands for Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport. Insight was launched on May 5, 2018 aboard an Atlas V rocket, with landing on November 26 on the Elysium Planitia area on the surface of Mars. Unlike the Curiosity rover, inSight will do all of its investigation in place.
