Japanese Yukata Jinbei Asanoha Navy blue Throw Pillow
A traditional Japanese herb leaves stencil pattern in traditional Japanese colors. "Navy blue" or bellflower color. The Asanoha are in a hexagonal shape, and that is the reason why this pattern is called as such.
Popular during the Edo period and still in demand today. This kind of pattern is often used on fabric for yukata or a jinbei, traditional Japanese clothes for in the hot summer months. But I have seen the pattern also used as part of a kimono. When you think of this type of fabric, resist dyeing comes to mind. In Japan vintage techniques are roketsuzome with wax, katazome, yuzen and tsutsgaki with rice paste. A favorite method of applying paste is by means of a stencil.

Fabric is very nice and of good quality. I like that there are many colors to choose from and you can have a different color on the back side if you choose.The pillow was to be 16" x 16" but ran a bit small. (14.5") Still happy just recommend you get a larger size . Design came out great. Colors were vivid and the overall quality is quite nice. Will definately order again. Highly recommend because it not only shipped super fast but overall I love the results!
