About Gustave Courbet
Jean Désiré Gustave Courbet was a French painter who led the Realist movement in 19th-century French painting. His first works were an Odalisque suggested by the writing of Victor Hugo and a Lélia illustrating George Sand, but he soon abandoned literary influences, choosing instead to base his paintings on observed reality. Among his paintings of the early 1840s are several self-portraits, Romantic in conception, in which the artist portrayed himself in various roles.

I needed an odd size piece of art to cover an ugly electric box panel in my newly finished basement. This piece fit the bill exactly. I've always loved Alphonse Mucha's art and this product was the exact size and style I was looking for. The art is vivid and looks great in my new bathroom.
