There’s a number of things you can write on your Christmas ornaments depending on the theme of the design and where the ornament will be hung. Most ornament messages follow the themes of traditional messages like “Happy Holidays”, personal messages such as “Married {Year}”, inspiring messages such as “Joy to the World”, funny messages such as “Merry Grinchmas”, and Memorable messages like “A Christmas To Remember”.

Most of the above messages will work for a variety of situations such as ornaments for good friends or recently engaged ornaments, but it never hurts to write something more intimate.

If you want a great-looking Christmas tree then follow our top tips for arranging your ornaments:

  1. Add Christmas lights & ribbon to your tree first, draping them around your tree
  2. Hanging your ornaments in the following order to reduce the chance of your Christmas tree tipping order:
    1. Hang your large ornaments first
    2. Hang smaller ornaments in between your large ornaments
    3. Add the ornament that goes on top of a tree, which is called a tree topper last
  3. Look at the whole tree and improve where necessary

Make sure to follow our advice if you want to make sure your ornaments are protected in storage so you don’t have to worry about replacing them the following holiday season.

  • Group similar ornaments - ornaments that have similar size and theme should be put away together in the same box or container
  • Don’t skimp on containers - use ornament-specific packaging boxes and materials to minimize or prevent damage. You can buy boxes or even DIY your own
  • Wrap ornaments - you can use tissue or bubble wrap to wrap your ornaments to provide additional protection to your ornaments during storage
  • Proper storage - don’t store in extreme climates such as hot or cold temperatures and avoid moisture. Instead, put your ornaments in an area that is not only dry, but relatively cool such as a well ventilated basement or closet
  • Stacking your boxes - Put boxes with lighter, more fragile ornaments on top of boxes with sturdier ornaments

All of our ornaments come with ribbon, string, or metal rings so you can hang them as soon as they are received.

How many you buy depends on a few things - how many you already have, your tree size, and decoration preference.

Size:
For small trees (3-4 feet) you should aim to have a total of 30-50 ornaments.
For medium trees of 5-7 feet you’ll want to aim for 70-100 ornaments.
For large trees of 8-9 feet You can aim for 150-200 ornaments.
Trees of 10 feet or more likely want at least 200 ornaments.
Decoration preference:
How many you want with our given range depends on how full you like your tree to be. If you prefer fuller trees then you’ll want more, but if you like more sparse decorations then aim for the lower range.
