John Maclean Scottish Workers Republican Party Tee

A t-shirt for supporters of Scottish independence, the design features an illustration from a Russian stamp commemorating the great Scottish revolutionary socialist John Maclean (1879–1923) with a graphic of the Scottish flag. Born in Pollokshaws, Glasgow, the former schoolteacher fought for the rights of the common man, ending up in prison for his beliefs. He was elected to the chair of the Third All-Russian Congress of Soviets in 1918 when he was made Bolshevik consul in Scotland. He founded the Scottish Workers Republican Party and supported Scottish independence. His health was broken in prison and he died aged 44.
