Kano Masanobu - Appreciating Lotuses Keychain

This is a 15th century color print by Japanese artist Kano Masanobu. In it he depics a chinese sage Zhou Maoshu getting ferried on a canoe across a river. The wise sage takes his time to enjoy the lotus flowers on the river. They've only just started crossing the river, we can see they're still under the shade of the willow like tree. The colors used are very mellow, different shades of green, brown and gray were used.
