Kappa, Hitotsume-kozo, and Oni Cartoon Yokai T-Shirt

This t-shirt features three popular youkai from Japanese mythology: the kappa (left), the hitotsume-kozou (middle), and the oni (right). The names of each youkai appear in their boxes, and the main text reads "Youkai Rule!" The kappa, a turtle-like water imp, is one of the most famous and popular youkai in Japan. Their most distinguishing characteristic is the shallow bowl of water in the top of their heads, which drains them of power if dried or spilled. Kappa love cucumbers, as well as a fictional human body part called the shirikodama, a ball found within the human butt. Kappa are usually depicted as antagonistic toward humans, and are a general boogeyman creature used to keep children from swimming unattended. The hitotsume-kozou, whose name literally means "one-eyed kid," is a mischief-maker with one eye and a long tongue. They appear as young boys dressed as monks, and their main goal is simply to use their bizarre features to scare people. The oni is the Japanese equivalent of an ogre. They are often depicted with red skin and horns, wearing a tiger-print loincloth and carrying a spiked club.
