This Irish Kelly (Ó Ceallaigh in Irish) family crest / coat of arms has been hand drawn by Kevin Byrne, an Irish musican (with arundo.ie) and visual artist, based in County Cork. The Kelly coat of arms comprises a tower, lions rampant, chains and spear. The crown symbolizes regal or senior authority, the tower symbolizes wealth, lions are warrior animals and the chains they climb signify honor. "Turris fortis mihi Deus" is the family motto - which translates to "God is a strong tower for me" - and in Irish "Is túr láidir Dia dom."
