Plate 225 Kildeer Plover (Kildeer, Killdeer, Charadrius vociferus) from The Birds of America by John James Audubon.
This image was scanned at very high resolution directly from the original book, The Birds of America by naturalist and painter John James Audubon (published in sections between 1827 and 1838 as a series). It has then been edited, cropped, sharpened and enhanced as needed for large scale format and use. While some of the original flaws form the old print will remain, this is one of the best versions of this artworks available. All 435 hand colored life-size watercolors in the original portfolio, reproduced from hand-engraved plates, are available. Very impressive product! The canvas is sturdily made. It features a saw tooth hanger on the back, making it easy to "try out" the canvas in several rooms until I found the best location. It attracts good comments from my friends. I love it! The printing is wonderful! Colors are as bright and crisp as they appeared on the website.
