Know Your Privilege T-Shirt

Speaks for itself: knowing and acknowledging your privilege is the first step to activism. Tip: Use your shirt as a segue into social construction theory. This theory distinguishes between matter-of-fact cues (e.g. the color of your skin) and the social value we assign to those cues (e.g. "white is good"). Another example would be female (a matter-of-fact cue), and the resulting expectation of long hair, pretty nails, and crossed legs (the social value of women). Most importantly, don't forget that socially constructed privileges (e.g. race) have not-so-socially-constructed consequences (e.g. racial profiling, job discrimination, to name a few).
