Korean War Veteran Coffee Mug by Papastyle Designs

The real thing looks exactly like the picture. Which you'd think would be a good thing but, in this case, it's not. The way the lettering at the top kind of fades out gave me the impression that it was the reflection of the light from the angle that the picture would have been taken. Given that, I thought the yellow band was more gold and brighter with high contrast so you could see the lettering (like you can at the bottom). Not so. The yellow band is simply an ugly brownish yellow that is really pale at the top and blending to darker at the bottom to imitate reflected light. Seems like a good artistic device but with the color they chose and the color of the lettering, it just doesn't work. Maybe if the lettering were higher contrast or in completely different but complimentary color (like a darker shade of the blue) it would have worked. As it is, the mug just looks like it's been through the dishwasher too many times. That all said, I'd rather see this design retained than scrapped just so as not to decrease the visibility of Korean War designs! Just judging the quality of the printing, rather than the design, it was great.

It is a lovely mug. The actual mug is shiny and smooth. Very nice quality. It was everything I expected. Zazzle has so many nice mid century modern designs to choose from. All so pretty! The design was very clear and looked expensive.
