Kunekune Pig Postcard
The Kunekune (A Maori name meaning 'fat and round') are a unique pig that is only found in New Zealand. While their origins are uncertain, they were probably brought by whalers in the 1800s, and traded with the local Maori. By the 1970s they were almost extinct, but have been rescued and are now popular as pets around the world, due to their calm and friendly nature, bravery, and relatively small size.
