Kuniyoshi Vintage Japanese Samurai Oda Nobunaga Postcard

This vintage Japanese art postcard features the woodblock print, “The warrior Ōta Kazusanosuke Taira-no Harunaga-kō (Oda Nobunaga) tearing a tent bearing his vassal's crest” from Kuniyoshi’s series Taiheiki Eiyuden or “Heroes of the Great Peace” (1846-47). One of the last great names in the Japanese ukiyo-e style, ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi was an undisputed master of the warrior woodblock print. Born in Tokyo in 1797, he became an apprentice to a famous print master at the age of 12.
