Lady Astor Leggings
This design is inspired by the Astor pattern of stoneware made by Cook Pottery of Trenton New Jersey. Marked Mellor & Co. (named after the president F.J. Mellor), this plate was most likely crafted in 1894. I can only imagine that the potters were paying tribute to Lady Astor as she was coming of age during the production of Mellor pottery and would leave America at just 26 to join society in England. Just a hunch, or a play on aster flowers and the Astor family.
In such disrepair, I focused on just two portions of the plate, one section, a cluster of asters (appearing around your ankles), the other leaves and softer blooms, accenting your thighs and hips. As always, the flow of the pattern is designed to draw attention to all the right places! The background of this legging is a very soft gray green to pick up hints of that in the flowers. With all of my leggings, however, lighting brings out variations!

The dainty interlinked rosette design at the waist is truly unique. The poly-spandex makes for a nice fit and available in sizes 0-16. The printing is vibrant and eye-catching.

Best leggings I've ever owned. At 6', I've never had leggings that reached beyond mid-calf but these go all the way past the ankle. I'm approx. 150# so ordered them in L but they wrinkle in the thighs which tells me they are a bit too big so next pair I will order an M instead. The fabric feels very high-quality- it's thick but still stretchy and comfy and has a very sleek & smooth look/feel to it. The printing is fantastic. The colors are amazingly vibrant, just as seen on screen when ordering. Be prepared to stand out in the crowd wearing these leggings; I get comments where ever I go when wearing them.
