This design features a painting by the Pre-Raphaelite artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828–1882). It shows Lilith, who was, according to ancient myth, the first wife of Adam, the first man in the Bible. She is associated with the seduction of men, being seen as a powerful and even evil temptress.
