LAISSEZ FAIRE - BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND CAR MAGNET

The world got schooled from 1977 to 1988 on how to govern in a way that respects the rights of all of the people, via the back-to-back Presidencies of Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan. Carter was the culmination of forty-plus years of control-fetishism and government tinkering with a machine they didn't - and don't - understand (the economy.) The consequence was multi-generational poverty and economic collapse. Then came a decade in which even Reagan's baby-steps in the general direction of Laissez Faire - putting government control-fetishists back into their cages and restoring the right of people to live and work by their own choices - enabled people who started the '80s decade as the poorest of the poor to go to the richest of the rich, along with everybody else. So it's 2021 and we've come full circle - and the control-fetishist children are at it again, playing with an economic machine they do not understand and systematically obliterating human rights and human freedoms for no rational purpose except: control-fetishism. The urge to rule, to have power. But power implies an object. It begs a question: "Over whom?" Force is evil and inescapably destructive. Government force, doubly so. So take your humanity-hate and your totalitarian pipe-dreams somewhere else, politicians. We are not your livestock. We are not your playthings. We are human beings, and you in government are just: Other human beings. But with a bizarre and malevolent superiority complex. Get out of our way. Leave us alone. Freedom is the core political value and its defense is your only job. The world otherwise moves by itself, and does it well. And so do we. The Middle Ages are over. Evolve like the rest of us.
