A calm morning at Lava Butte located near Bend, Oregon. It is a large cinder cone that is 5,020 feet high and is part of the Newberry Volcano System. Walking along the trails at the bottom gets you up close to the old lava rocks that flowed over 7,000 years ago! Photo taken May 2016.
