Left Mitsudomoe (rough sketch) T-Shirt

The left and right sides of the tomoe crest are not determined by the direction of the swirl, but rather by a rational name created based on the diagram. Even a skilled artist may be unsure of the left and right sides of the tomoe at times. However, they recall a useful oral tradition... First, make a fist with your left hand and look at your wrist. The shape is that of a left tomoe. If you make a fist with your right hand, the shape of a right tomoe appears immediately. (from 'The Story of Family Crests' by Tsumio Awagasaka, p. 61).
