Lighthouse Effect - Blue Doormat

Lighthouse Effect - Blue Doormat

Lighthouse Effect - blue is a photograph taken in Australia. The sun is behind the lighthouse and the astonished ring of light was visible in the sky. It was the first time in my life I have seen a sun halo. Moon halos are spotted more often. A sun halo is a ring or light that occurs due the sunlight refracting in millions of ice crystals. The halo is usually seen as a bright, white ring although sometimes it can have color. This effect is caused by thin cirrus clouds, which are formed very high up in the atmosphere. Weather folklore says a ring around the sun or moon means it will rain soon but it might not always been the case. "A little History of Lighthouses: A lighthouse is a tower with a bright light on the top. It helps warn sailors of dangerous areas and serves as a navigational aid that helps to keep ships and boats safe. A light station includes the lighthouse, the keepers’ house, and other structures. These buildings helped lightkeepers carry out their duties. The earliest from of lighthouses was probably bonfires on the beach. The earliest known lighthouse was built in Egypt over 2,000 years ago. Archaeologists have found the remains of more than 30 lighthouses built by ancient Romans. The first British colonial lighthouse is located in Boston, Massachusetts. It was built in 1716."
