Limited Edition Artwork: THORIN OAKENSHIELD™ Poster

Got the size I wanted and it's absolutely gorgeous! Printing is beautiful more then my expectations..

Did not expect this that is for sure. I have NEVER had a poster with such detail and quality. This one is going in a frame for sure! Beautiful. I am so proud of this. Cannot wait to hang it in a frame

Deservedly this haunting, beautiful image of the Hobbit movie's Thorin Oakenshield was used everywhere for publicity, and it was driving me crazy that I couldn't get my hands on a large, ~movie-house size good resolution copy on good, fade-resistant paper or canvas. Until tripping over Zazzle and taking the plunge - opted for the second-to-largest size on canvas with basic black wood framing. Oh, man, was I happy when this big box showed up - it's glorious. Being someone who works with their hands a lot and does some graphic work, believe me, I was down on my hands and knees with my nose 2 inches from the print, taking a real hard look for any low-resolution pixels, miscut or off-printing, or sloppy framing. Very pleased, a lovely neat job that I could not have done myself, (if I thought it had sucked it would be on its way back already). Plus very neatly done sturdy hanging hardware already attached. The image is very sharp, very clear, good color, don't know what resolution this was printed at but have no complaints and very happy with my choice of canvas. Between the lighting in the image and the printing at this size it's almost a 3-D effect, like you could reach out and feel the texture of the fur. If I had been printing this myself, I might have boosted the blue/cyan a small bit, re the sky as other renditions of this image the sky looks a bit bluer. MAYBE. (This reviewer will sit for hours with Photoshop tweaking stuff, so anyone reading this be aware I'm a fuss-budge that way...) But. Outputting a file for color and/or adjusting color is not so easy, because a change in one place can mess up another and you could end up with weird skin tones. This isn't the easiest image to output, either, thanks to the wide range in lighting - I know, I've printed a low res version off a large-scale plotter, takes a lot of tweaking. And in the end, frustrated with my low-res amateur effort, this framed image is WORTH EVERY PENNEY I spent and gets the place of honor (as befits the King Under the Mountain) above the TV. And definitely for this image bigger is better. I like this so much - IMO one of the best movie images ever done by a wonderful photographer - I'm considering a second one if I can figure out where to put it. So thank you Zazzle & co. as for me a "good enough" printing/framing job is not "good enough", I want great (and the majestic Thorin deserves the best).
