Lion and Lioness wedding print Fleece Blanket

A VERY neato full color print dating to the 1870-something*, depicting the scene at a lion couple's wedding reception. From the artist's estate tons of my other items comes from. She had scratched in pencil on the back what looks like 1870, or maybe 1878, or maybe 1879. I first guessed that 7 might have actually been the number 1, but they weren't making things like this in 1810, 1818 or 1819. Thus and therefore, sometime in 1870s. (Penmanship was not really in her wheelhouse.) The original print is captioned in French and Italian, and translates as “The various breeds gathered in a banquet to show the peace of the animal world, celebrate the wedding of the Lion and the Lionesses. The magician will give the gifts of circumstance." Let me add something to that, to wit: It looks fantastic on all kinds of EVERYTHING, including throw blankets. Wanna see more old?
