This Rococo portrait masterpiece titled, Countess of Châtre is made by the famous painter, Louise Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun using oil on canvas in 1789. She published her memoirs in 1835 and 1837, which provide an interesting view of the training of artists at the end of the period dominated by royal academies. Her portrait of fellow neoclassical painter Hubert Robert is in Paris at the Louvre.
