Louisiana Heron, 1834, From the Birds of America Shower Curtain

This is a remastered reproduction version of the Louisiana Heron, 1834, Plate CCXVII, based on the series “Birds of America” by John James Audubon (1785 - 1851). The illustration shows the adult male Louisiana Heron. Robert Havell (1793 - 1878) engraved, printed and colored the original version. Creating the original vintage prints employed hand-colored engraving techniques and the aquatint process on Whatman wove paper. The original Birds of America book is very expensive because of the limited number of original books published and their popularity. The bookplates are incredible and awe-inspiring classics. This version has been digitally remastered and enhanced. Vibrant colors were introduced to this enhanced version.
