Love Our Country Vote Out the Insurrectionists from Congress design. It is time to put country over party, up and down the ballot and in all local and community groups. Trump wasn't a freakish one-off of our politics, he normalized 50 years of Republican politics, starting after the Civil Rights Movement, to undermine voting and destroy civil rights for all of us. Rioters in the capitol building were incited by years of rhetoric from Trump and his enabling cronies, including the two months of planning after the 2020 election to overturn the presidential election. Since the time enslavement became a part of the original Constitution, through our failures after Reconstruction, and including our failures to hold elected officials accountable after Iran-Contra, we have done a poor job at accountability. We don't know if the justice system will catch up with the coup plotters and planners in Congress, but they made no secret about who they were. We individually and collectively have the power to vote out the insurrectionists in our districts. It is time to love our country and and start holding people politically accountable for their actions, including trying to overthrow an election.
