Luxor Egypt Karnak Temple Travel Postcard

Luxor Egypt Karnak Temple Travel Postcard

Luxor, often called the "world’s greatest open-air museum," is a city in southern Egypt that sits on the east bank of the Nile River. It was once the ancient city of Thebes, the capital of Egypt during the New Kingdom (16th–11th century BCE) and a center of power and worship. Luxor is home to some of the most spectacular ancient Egyptian temples and monuments, including the massive Karnak Temple Complex, which was dedicated to the god Amun-Ra and took over 2,000 years to complete. Nearby, the Luxor Temple, illuminated beautifully at night, showcases giant statues of Ramses II and intricate carvings that tell stories of ancient rituals and pharaohs. On the west bank of the Nile, Luxor reveals even more archaeological treasures, most notably the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. These valleys contain the tombs of famous rulers, including the legendary Tomb of Tutankhamun, which was discovered nearly intact in 1922 by Howard Carter. The stunning Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, built into towering cliffs, stands as a tribute to Egypt’s most famous female pharaoh. Luxor’s combination of ancient wonders, Nile-side beauty, and vibrant bazaars makes it one of the most fascinating destinations in Egypt, offering visitors a journey back in time to the height of the pharaohs' power.

I joined Postcrossing a few months ago and wanted postcards to represent my state well. I found them on Zazzle. I purchased numerous cards and was impressed with all of them. Excellent! The colors are beautiful. The cards have the exact look I wanted. I couldn't be happier.
