The codes on this Message Coder / Decoder watch allow for multiple levels of complication in your coded messages. For a simple number / letter code, replace the letter or number with the corresponding number or letter across the line from it. For a simple replacement code, replace your letter with the clock number's letter in the standard alphabet or else replace the number with clock letter's number in the alphabet. (For example: On the clock the number for A is 12. L is the twelfth letter of the alphabet. So you would replace the A with an L. On the clock the letter for 12 is A. A is the first letter of the alphabet. So you would replace 12 with 1) Zero represents a space between numbers while the & symbol represents a space between letters. The two are interchangeable. Punctuation and other symbols have a direct correspondence with numbers. You can also create a time stamp code by adjusting the times so that the large hand points to a specific letter or symbol, or the small hand points to a specific number. You can then add further complexity to this code by using the number / letter code or the replacement code in conjunction with your time stamp code.
