The Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos, is a vibrant and deeply meaningful tradition in Mexico, celebrated annually on November 1st and 2nd. Rooted in Indigenous Aztec beliefs and blended with Catholic influences, this holiday honors deceased loved ones by welcoming their spirits back for a brief reunion. Families create colorful altars, known as ofrendas, adorned with marigolds (cempasúchil), candles, photographs, and personal mementos of the departed.
