"Mother Winter" Original Art iPhone Case

Mother Winter is the mother of all creatures of the north. She represents the cold and the snow, but also all the life in nature that comes with it. I created this painting to use on a winter holiday card one year. I wanted to depict the season of winter through an allegorical figure. She is wearing a tan deerskin cloak with a fur-lined hood. Surrounded by mountains and a sky at dusk as the crescent moon comes out, the stars float overhead. The wind blows her cloak open and reveals the figures of winter animals of North America: snowy owl, wolf, polar bear, caribou, arctic fox and snowshoe hare. Snow blows around inside like a snow globe, with purple swirls and blue. She is the mother of the winter, where the world goes to sleep, yet is very much alive in its creatures.
