Mug - My Dragon Ate My Homework

This is a variation on my first digital painting. The concept popped into my head in 2005 as part of my high school AP Studio Art portfolio: 'The Blessings and Curses of an Overactive Imagination.' The first iteration was in colored pencil, but I didn't feel I had done the concept justice. So, years later, when I purchased my trusty digital tablet and pen, this seemed like the perfect concept to bring back as a digital painting. I only had Photoshop Elements at the time (thank goodness, I now have Photoshop CS5). I have been asked on a number of occasions if I started with any photographs. The answer is no. While I used some photos for reference, I created everything by hand.
