This design features a painting by Edmund Blair Leighton (1852–1922), who was an English painter of historical scenes. It shows a man entering a grand building as a woman enters. She is dressed in fine clothes, including a long flowing dress and fashionable hat, and the man is admiring her appearance. There is clearly some romantic tension between the couple. They may be well known to each other and in the early stages of courtship, or the man may be simply be admiring the woman's beauty in a passing glance. Either way, it is an elegant image of human attraction and romance. The woman is carrying a small black terrier dog in her arm and she looks nonchalantly towards the viewer; she knows her own worth. The gentleman is carrying a long overcoat on his arm. The original artwork was produced in 1894.
