Nanbu Tsuru Leather Wallet

The Nanbu family, who were based in the Nuikobu region spanning from northern Iwate Prefecture to Aomori, were descended from the northern Fujiwara clan. The family's crest, the crane, was adopted after a legendary incident in which two red-crowned cranes landed near the general Nanbu Moriyuki's flag during a battle against the Akita clan, signaling a divine blessing for their victory. The crest evolved from a diamond-shaped crane to a single crane, and eventually to the 'Nanbu Tsuru' or 'Southern Crane' design.
