The Narwhal (Monodon monoceros) is often called the "Unicorn of the Sea" because of its distinctive tusk; actually a greatly extended canine tooth. During the Medieval age some Europeans believes that Narwhal tusks, harvested by the Greenland Norse were in fact Unicorn horns. They were worth more then their weight in gold. The Narwhal is particularly vulnerable to climate change , perhaps even more so than is the Polar Bear, due to a narrow geographical range and specialized diet. The minute I spotted this item I knew I HAD to order these for my daughter's wedding for the Hotel Goodie Bags since the wedding was held at a vineyard. The quality is great and they were a little bigger than I expected but worked out and will be useful to the recipients to tote their books, papers, lunch etc for future use. The picture shows what we put inside to welcome our hotel guests. I was very satisfied with the printing on the tote and I liked I was able to choose the font and size for the bag.
