Though he went on to help lay the foundations of the American short story, Hawthorne is more widely known for his novels The Scarlet Letter and The House of Seven Gables.

The photograph, the lettering and numbering of the name and dates of the author are all really quite good. Hawthorne . . . genius. Four exquisite novels and arguably the greatest short story collection ever written in the English language: Twice-Told Tales, in which there is a specific story - not telling which! - that I know in my heart of hearts Tolkien got his inspiration for the Lord of the Rings! OR is an excellent summing up of any singular point to be had from the Tolkien trilogy! The old-fashioned color tone of the black-and-white photograph, it's brown almost orang-ish tinting, makes for a terrific reproduction of the great author in his autumn years, shall I say?

My overall review is that the T-shirt is nice, it fits true to size however the font is significantly smaller than advertised and you can't read it. The printing is unreadable and there is a strain to read it. It does not look like the advertised product. Maybe the shirt color is darker or a larger more visible font should have been used. Photos with and without flash and font is barely legible.
