I am sick and tired of inconsiderate pricks leaving weights everywhere. Today, I was looking for 32.5lb dumbbells to do some seated shoulder presses. Can't find them. Fine, I'll just do 30lbs again like I did the past two weeks and squeeze more reps out. Can't find them either. I eventually had to resort to using 25lbs after searching high and low for 10 minutes. I finish my work out and go to the cycling room to cool down after my training session. And guess what I find? A pair of 30lb dumbbells and a pair of 32.5lb dumbbells. In. The. Bloody. Cycling. Room. The CYCLING ROOM OUT OF ALL PLACES. I was so angry dragging two pairs of dumbbells to their appropriate spot and I dont even work there. My gym is very notorious for people leaving everything everywhere. No exaggerating whatsoever. Clips can't be found in pairs. 25lb plates on the 10lb racks behind two 45lb plates. People leaving 315lbs on the squat rack. Dumbbells on the floor. 55lb dumbbells on the 25lb rack. But this. This pushed me off the edge. If you don't rerack your weights, you are a moron. Period. Its downright disrespectful. Disrespectful to other lifters, other gym goers, and most of all disrespectful to the employees. And its not even the young high schoolers just doing this. Grown men! Grown men with kids and they can't even clean up after themselves. Every morning I see this poor little girl carrying around weights as heavy as her back and forth with a look of absolute defeat written all over her face. I hate to perpetuate the stereotype that lifters get but man this really pissed me off. Sorry about the rant, but I had to vent. I know rant Wednesday is over, so in an effort to make this thread more than a rant, let's start a discussion on how we can go about advocating the reracking of weights.
