She deeply loves her husband Gideon with all of his flaws, including the fact that he doesn't like music much. But Rose loves to sing and dance, even if the radio is broken most of the time. Her insistence that Gideon open the door to these "babies" in their time of need is just another way she "noisies-up the quiet a bit."
