The original name of the was Kjelvik, after a fishing village with the same name. But the village was by the Germans in 1944 and it never recovered. As a replica of this the changed the name to Nordkapp in 1950 ____ Nordkapp er ein kommune i Finnmark. Han grensar i sørvest mot Måsøy, i sør mot Porsanger, og i søraust mot Lebesby kommune. Størsteparten av kommunen ligg på Magerøya, men have omfattar også delar av fastlandet på aust og dressed av Porsangerfjorden. Kommunen heitte Kjelvik kommune fram til 1950. WELCOME TO NORDKAPP!
